My favorite kind of pans to use are cast iron pans in every shape and size. For the most part I stick to only those except on occasion. I have found cast iron to be the most helpful for many reasons. They are a versatile cookware. I can use my cast iron fry pan for frying, sautéing, gravies, and making deep dish pizzas; since you can put them in the oven. I truly love a pan that can do so many things without having to have one pan for each task. Though it can do so many things, I have a 10 & 12 inch fry pan, a pizza pan, a chicken fryer (which I treat like a dutch oven until I get my large dutch oven), and a deep dish lasagna pan, but that one is enameled.
